The Italian SIM Training Programme Wraps in Milan

The Social Impact Manager (SIM) training was held in the vibrant city of Milan, bringing together an inspiring group of changemakers for four intense days of face-to-face learning. Hosted by the University of Milano-Bicocca in collaboration with Project School and Manageritalia, this experience blended theory and practice to shape the next generation of social impact leaders.

Participants immersed themselves in cutting-edge concepts in social impact management, sustainability, and strategic stakeholder engagement. Expert-led sessions delved deep into designing innovative welfare models and creating shared value between companies and local communities.

A highlight of the program was the Social Innovation Hackathon—a fast-paced, collaborative event where students, professionals, companies, and non-profits joined forces to co-create real solutions for pressing territorial challenges. From designing inclusive community services to reimagining corporate social responsibility strategies, the ideas that emerged were both visionary and practical.

Through hands-on social impact projects developed in partnership with local businesses and third sector organisations, participants applied their skills to real-world scenarios. These experiences not only deepened their understanding but also demonstrated the power of community-based innovation. Beyond training, the SIM program created valuable networking opportunities, connecting participants with industry experts, policymakers, and fellow aspiring impact managers. The sense of community and shared purpose was strongly felt. We look forward to rounding off the training with a Hackathon on June 24th.

For the most outstanding participants, the journey doesn’t end in Milan. They will have the chance to attend the International SIM School in Paris this November —an exclusive, fully funded event that brings together global leaders in social impact for three days of collaboration, inspiration, and growth.

Thanks to European Commission funding, the SIM program is completely free of charge, opening doors for passionate people to drive meaningful change without financial barriers.
