Shaping the Future of Social Impact Management

We’re thrilled to announce the release of SIM Ezine Issue 3, the latest edition of our digital magazine dedicated to advancing the field of Social Impact Management across Europe. Compiled with fresh insights, real-world case studies, and exciting updates from the SIM consortium, this issue is a must-read for changemakers committed to building more sustainable, inclusive, and community-connected organisations.

At the heart of this edition is the SIM Education Programme—an ambitious new curriculum designed to equip current and future Social Impact Managers with the skills they need to thrive. Built around five core modules—Corporate Governance, Territorial Analysis, Stakeholder Engagement, Project Management, and Impact Assessment—the programme blends theory with real-world practice. Learners will tackle community challenges through hackathons and collaborative projects, developing a rich toolkit to bridge business goals with community needs.

This learner-centred, outcomes-based programme is about to be piloted in Italy, Austria, Greece, Croatia, and France with its goal to train a new generation of professionals who can drive corporate social responsibility (CSR) beyond compliance toward true, transformational impact.

Our research spotlight offers a comparative look at CSR practices in five partner countries. The findings reveal that while local approaches vary from grassroots efforts in Croatia to structured policy frameworks in Austria, the shared thread is clear: strong collaboration between companies and communities leads to stronger social outcomes. These insights have shaped our educational content and are laying the groundwork for the International SIM School to be launched in Paris later this year.

We also shine a light on Interplast, a Greek manufacturing company and CSR pioneer. Led by Zoe Rizopoulou, Interplast embodies what it means to lead with purpose—engaging with local institutions, promoting education, and supporting sustainability through bold, grassroots initiatives. It’s a powerful case study on how business can be a true force for good.

SIM Ezine 3 also captures the energy of our celebration of Erasmus+ Days at the Sorbonne in Paris, honours our recent project meeting in Vienna, and reflects on the growing societal demand for corporate accountability. As climate change, social inequality, and economic resilience dominate the global agenda, we explore the increasing expectations placed on companies—and how the role of the Social Impact Manager is more essential than ever.

As we move closer to the SIM programme rollout and the launch of the International SIM School, we invite you to read and share this issue with anyone passionate about reshaping business as a driver of social progress.
